Q&A with Kristy Pinkley

Tell us a little about you, where you live, children, occupation, etc.

My name is Kristy Pinkley. I live in Gallatin, TN. I've been a stay at home mom for almost 13 1/2 years. My daughter is 13 & my son is 10.  I sometimes do substitute teaching at the kid's school since I am a certified teacher (my profession before kids). I love to read. I also like to dabble in golf.

Describe your nutrition before starting the Burn Fat and Feast program.

Before starting Burn Fat and Feast, I was eating just about anything but trying to limit my portions.

Describe your fitness routine before starting the Burn Fat and Feast program.

I was doing different exercises. Last year I decided to run & did a 5K, 15K, & a half marathon, so most of my exercising was training for those. After the half marathon, I dabbled with the exercise DVDs I have at home (like TurboFire & CIZE) & also did a squat challenge in the month of November. Basically nothing consistent after the half marathon & was kind of bored with my current stuff.

What made you decide to join this program?

I was a majorette with Sarah at UT & had been following her Refined Fitness page for the last couple of years. She had asked me a couple of times to do this program, & I kindly turned her down. Then I realized that I was having a hard time losing the last 5-10 pounds I wanted to lose & I am turning 40 this August, so I decided why not & signed up to start right after New Year's Day. I went through BFF & found that I could lose those 5 pounds by eating right, intermittent fasting (wasn't sure I would like this but ended up loving it), & the right exercises with the nutrition for that day. I decided to continue with the BFF Elite program to give me more options for an eating & exercising plan & loved it as well.

How do you feel now that you have graduated?

I feel great since I've completed the programs. I find that I sleep better & have more energy throughout the day. I feel like I'm setting a good example of smart, healthy eating for my family.

Share with us 2 successes, things you learned or what your biggest takeaways were upon completion.

Through this program I was able to lose not only the pounds I wanted but inches as well. During BFF I lost 9 1/2 inches total throughout my body & after Elite I lost another 7 inches throughout my body for a total of 16 1/2 inches. One place I never thought I would lose after two kids was my hips, & I lost 2 1/2 inches there alone. I learned that fasting sounds scary but is easier that I originally thought, & I enjoyed the days that started with a fast because there was less meal planning. This program is not hard to make into a lifestyle, & I look forward to trying to keep it up to maintain what I achieved.
