Q&A with Annie Lewis

Tell us a little about you, where you live, children, occupation, etc.

I live in Franklin, TN.  I’m a homemaker and have three children.  I’m a volunteer softball coach for my girls’ rec team.

Describe your nutrition before starting the Burn Fat and Feast program.

My husband and I were both student athletes and then college coaches, so we have always been passionate about health and wellness.  We began exploring the Paleo lifestyle when my son was born (four years ago) and ate mostly clean before beginning the program.

Describe your fitness routine before starting the Burn Fat and Feast program.

I enjoyed classes at the YMCA and got there most days of the week.  It easily fell to the back burner if something else came up, though.

What made you decide to join this program?

Honestly, I was intrigued.  I had heard about people looking at their macro-nutrients, but didn’t know much about it.  I struggled losing the last of my “baby weight” after baby number 3 and had tried several programs that I didn’t love.  This plan was affordable, and as a mom, I really liked having someone just tell me what to do.  When Sarah advertised it for people looking to lose 5-10 lbs, I thought, “Man, that would be nice.” But I honestly didn’t believe it would work.  Nothing had worked and kept the weight off!  So I didn’t even take beginning pictures or measurements.  I just couldn’t go back and see the evidence if the program failed.

How do you feel now that you have graduated?

I feel wonderful!  I completed both the basic and elite group, so after 12 weeks, this became more of a routine and lifestyle for me.  I still follow the program and have been able to maintain my results.

Share with us 2 successes, things you learned or what your biggest takeaways were upon completion.

I have found that I really enjoy working out at home.  I wake up earlier and get my workout done before the kids get up and the day begins.  Doing this has literally gained me hours into my day!  I love the workouts Sarah provided with the program and love even more that I continue to have access to them! Without a doubt, my biggest takeaway was the nutrition element. Once I began tracking my food, I couldn’t believe how much fat was in my diet!  It really made me look differently at what I was eating.  The education of macro-nutrients, carb-cycling and fasting has been critical for me.  I didn’t have to buy a specific shake or supplement for the program – I ate real food and used the supplements we already purchase as a family.
