Q&A with Lindsay Files

Tell us a little about you, where you live, children, occupation, etc.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA. My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary this past December. We have 2 boys, Jack (7) and Luke (2). I work full-time as the controller for a commercial real estate company in Pittsburgh. I’ve been with my company for over 9 years and am blessed to have been given so many opportunities within my company.  I absolutely hate to be bored and good thing because life is always crazy! We love to vacation and in the summer for sure our favorite thing to do is be poolside.  Since we’re always so busy, there’s nothing more I cherish than spending family time together.

Describe your nutrition before starting the Burn Fat and Feast program.

I was either 100% on a diet or 100% off of a diet.  Good at losing and good at gaining. I had no clue how to maintain my weight. My go to diet was low carb/atkins diet.

Describe your fitness routine before starting the Burn Fat and Feast program.

My fitness was few and far in between. With being busy, working out was always the last thought in my mind. I do love to run, particularly outside on a trail that is practically in my back yard. So in good running weather conditions that was my go to. When that wasn’t the case (which is typical Pittsburgh weather…..), I really wouldn’t even think about working out.

What made you decide to join this program?

My sisters success with the program made me want to try. When I saw how it worked for her, I figured I would give it a try.

How do you feel now that you have graduated?

I feel proud! And good about my body again.

Share with us 2 successes, things you learned or what your biggest takeaways were upon completion.

My absolute biggest takeaway is learning how to make this nutrition plan and habits a lifestyle.  Feast day plays a big role in this as well because I don’t feel deprived. I save what I am craving for then and then I feel satisfied and can keep going. Such a better way to stay stable instead of falling off of the wagon.

I think fasting is another notable thing I feel I really learned about. I never would have considered fasting as part of a lifestyle before. And quit honestly going into this program, that was the biggest thing I was scared of. When I mention the fasting to others, I get 1 of 2 reactions…. 1. You’re crazy or 2. Fasting is one of the best things you can do for you body. Clearly the latter is the side I am on. The research that Sarah provided us with during this program gave me assurance that it was in fact very positive and very effective!
